Mr. Wes Eklund is the second-generation owner of Fleet Engineers and has served as President and CEO since 1990. He is a former chair of the Employers Association of West Michigan, the Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Muskegon Area First economic development corporation. He has served as co-chair and chair of the MACC Government Affairs Committee, as well as co-chair of the West Michigan Chamber Coalition board.
Wes Eklund was listed as one of the “ten most influential business leaders” by the Muskegon Chronicle in March 2006. He holds a BBA in Business Administration and Management with minors in Economics and Finance from Grand Valley State University. He is also a graduate of the Institute for Healing Racism.
Vice President of Manufacturing
Steve is responsible for manufacturing operations at Fleet Engineers spanning a career of 32 years. Steve has held positions of Design Engineer, Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, Sales Engineer, General Manager of the Access Works Roll-up Door Division, and Vice President. Steve has enjoyed memberships with Knights of Columbus, TTMA, MRA, and past affiliation with the Churchill Athletic Association as past president and baseball coach for 11 years.
Steve holds an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology from Baker College and a Bachelors of Industrial Management Degree from Baker College.
In his spare time, Steve is an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoys wood working, hobby farming, and is co-owner of a Subway restaurant franchise with his wife.
Vice President of Finance
As the Vice President of Finance, Don is responsible for accounting, logistics, information technology and purchasing at Fleet Engineers, and has worked at the company for 28 years. Don is a member of NATP and Knights of Columbus Council 706. Don proudly serves on the finance committee for Muskegon Catholic Central High School and is the treasurer of Knights of Columbus Council 706 Building Association.
Don earned an Associate Degree in Accounting from Baker College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with minor in Accounting from Aquinas College.
For eight years, Don has coached high school girls’ basketball and enjoys playing golf, softball and working in the yard.
Mike joined Fleet Engineers in July of 2014 and brings with him over 30 years of experience in supply chain and purchasing management. Mike has been director of purchasing and logistics departments in the defense, electronics, automotive, and fenestration industries. While at Texas Instruments, Mike served as a product engineer and purchasing manager for the HARM Missile program; he was also an international countertrade specialist for the business development department and an international sourcing manager for TI‘s notebook computer product line. With this extensive international experience, Mike later served as a purchasing manager at Dell Computers.
With a move to Michigan, Mike was the electronics sourcing manager for Johnson Controls Automotive Interiors Group and was director of purchasing and logistics for joint venture HBPO (an automotive tier one) and ODL, Inc. Through the years, Mike has progressed from product engineer, buyer, countertrade specialist, purchasing manager, international sourcing manager, to director level at Fortune 500 companies.
Mike also served in the United States Marine Corps (Reserves) from 1981 to 2011 and retired as a Colonel. A combat veteran, Mike served in multiple deployments to the Middle East. Culminating as the Commander of Al Asad Air Base in Iraq. His last assignment was the Assistant Chief of Staff G-4 Logistics for the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing in New Orleans, LA.
Mike resides in Holland Michigan. He and his wife, Jackie, have been married for 32 years and they have three sons.
Human Resource Manager
Mark has been with Fleet Engineers for 30 years and holds a BA in Business Administration from Hope College. His work history includes various positions within staffing and recruitment organizations including staffing of a medical claims processing center for major health insurance provider and general human resource responsibilities for manufacturing and governmental entities.
